Glacier Lagoon

Glacier Lagoon or Breidamerkurlon as is named in Iceland, is actually a fjord in creation by an outlet glacier from Vatnajokull glacier. The weight of the outlet glacier is constantly, slowly but surely, carving out the land and is now the deepest lake in Iceland, 250 meters deep.

Glacier Lagoon is a very popular place to visit, and for a reason. Its majestic presence is such that most people are simply overwhelmed. The icebergs on the lagoon are ever changing and the look of the lagoon changes by the direction of the wind. So no matter how often you visit, it will never be the same. And for the photographer, the subjects and the light will create a magic world of photo opportunities.
