Golden Circle Photo Tour

A tour visiting Thingvellir National Park, Geysir hot spring and Gullfoss waterfall is generally referred to as a Golden Circle tour.
Thingvellir, where parliament was established at the year 930 is situated in the rift valley between the American and EuroAsian tectonic plates. Thingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its cultural values.
Geysir hotspring area is where the hot spring Strokkur has accepted the task of erupting every few minutes from the now retired original Geysir.
Gullfoss is a majestic waterfall on two levels, tumbling over two tectonic faults at 90 degrees to one another.

For the photographer there are endless motives for photographs.
At Thingvellir there are the cliffs in the rift valley, waterfall, fissures filled with water, lake and vegetation. The vegetation is specially colorful in the fall.
The erupting hot spring Strokkur is perhaps the most photographed natural object in Iceland, but it's never the same. The elements, the sky and the light always create different aesthetics, and the eruption is never the same. Photographers become tireless in getting the good picture of an eruption that happens about seven to ten minutes on average.
Gullfoss in it's grandness can be approached at many different angles and the qualities of light are ever different.
